We had a lunch birthday party in the mission office to celebrate Alan's birthday. Noone had ever had New Zealand pavlova before, so that was a treat. Elder Mathis recreated an Indiana Jones movie poster add, superimposing Alan's face over Harrison Ford's. His reaction was awesome, that really tickled him. We've hung it on the extra nail on the wall of Korea Daejeon Mission Presidents!
Later we enjoyed a visit from a former missionary, Kim Jeong Chul, who is heading off to BYU next month.

Good luck
hahaha. Love the poster and the funny falling over candle on those pancakes. Looks like it was a great birthday. Can't wait to see you in just over a week :)!!!!!!! I also noticed the many little bottles of yogurt drink and think you might need about 1000 of those on hand for my kids to devour. Phoebe has been asking a lot of questions about if there will be any regular food over there. I don't think she remembers being in Japan at all. She is worried it is all squid and weird fish to eat, haha.
We love Pavlova! We make it all the time. Happy Birthday Uncle!!!
I keep forgetting the time change from here to there but at leasat it's your Birthday here still I think. Even if it's not were having cake in your honor. The Indiana Jones must be an iside joke. All the ladies I've run across that know you think you look and sound like Pierce Brosnan not Harrison Ford. Probably the Pierce from Mama Mia not 007. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Uncle Allan! What an impressive pavlova with the yummy kiwifruit to top it off! Love it! Hope you are both well. With love, Sara, Konrad and kiddies.
