In full bloom these lovely lotus flowers are about 10 inches wide and grow 3-4 ft. high on a lake of water. The leaves get up to nearly two feet in diameter! The lotus pod is in the center of the flower and hardens as the petals fall away. Incredibly beautiful, and in the nearby woods, the cicadas were screaming - a music I love to hear! There was a bench in the shade of the trees where I could have sat all day and listened!
The rice is still a couple of months away from harvesting, but here are an early and mid season picture. Farming in Korea is a work of art!
